Sara Ali Khan Wanted to Pass Her “Atrangi Re Role” to Alia Bhatt! Here’s Why

It was of her superhit movie “Atrangi Re.” In a recent interview with Mid-Day, the actress admitted that she was very nervous at that time and called the director “Anand L. Rai” for the same.

“Are You Sure You Don’t Want to Call Alia Bhatt?” Asked Sara Ali Khan

In a recent interaction with Mid-Day, Sara Ali Khan opened up about her character “Rinku” in Atrangi Re. According to her, it was a very great character and needed extra weight of talent. She also asked the director “Anand L. Rai” if he wanted to call senior actress Alia Bhatt to play this great role.

She said, “I called Aanand R Lai and told him, ‘Atrangi Re is a great script. This character is outstanding. Are you sure you don’t want to call Alia Bhatt (to do the role instead)?’” When asked why she asked such a question, Sara Ali Khan explained, “Because I was very nervous. This was after Love Aaj Kal. He told me, ‘On a personal note, I’ll deal with you. But Rinku is not a character that you can play on the back foot. So you can’t do this (have doubts) right now or ever. That really helped pick me up.”
