Munna Bhaiya Almost Overtook Divyenndu Sharma’s Personality! Left Mirzapur For A Reason
Despite being a villain, Munna Bhaiya is the most loved character of the Mirzapur series. He is not just a character, he is a feeling hidden inside all of us. Everything he does and says reflects the same things we imagine to portray in our lives but stop for ethics. That’s why we can deeply relate to this character.
But have you ever wondered how Divyenndu Sharma portrayed this incredible character with such perfection? According to him, he deeply immersed himself in Munna Bhaiya’s persona and started relating with him in no time. But as time passed, this intense involvement began to affect his personality, leading him into a dark space.

“We Shouldn’t Over-Romanticise Any Character”, Said Divyenndu Sharma Aka Munna Bhaiya
No doubt, Divyenndu Sharma Aka Munna Bhaiya was the heart and soul of the Mirzapur series. After his death in season 2, the audience outburst on social media with conspiracy theories to bring him back in the third season. Even the makers of Mirzapur were ready to take him back. But Divyenndu decided to quit on Munna Bhaiya.

Divyenndu Sharma stated that this character was very influential for him and started taking over his personality. He said, When I was in character, it was affecting my personality a lot. We shouldn’t over-romanticise going too deep into a character, because it is not easy. At times, it used to get really dark for me. I felt suffocated. It’s so tricky that you don’t even realise that you are in that zone. It’s only when you come out of it do you realise how dark it was.”
Divyenndu also ended the conspiracy theories through his social media handle, saying “I am not part of season 3 guys. I know it’s a heartbreak… I love those conspiracy theories, they were legit. I shall declare, I am not a part of Mirzapur Season 3.”

Recently, Anand Iyer, director of Mirzapur, addressed the absence of Munna Bhaiya in season 3. He said, “One can’t cater to everyone. Similarly, in a show, characters come and go. It is all about ‘Mirzapur’, not about one character. The show must go on with new twists and turns.”
