Legendary Singer Pankaj Udhas Dies at 72! PM Modi Wrote A Heartfelt Note
India is in grief as the legendary ghazal and playback singer Pankaj Udhas passed away at the age of 72 years. Today, on 26th November 2024, the singer’s family shared a statement on social media to confirm his death. They shared that he had been struggling with a prolonged illness in Mumbai.
In the statement, they wrote, “With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padma Shri Pankaj Udhas on 26 February due to a prolonged illness.” Here’s the post:

In the note, he wrote, “We mourn the loss of Pankaj Udhas Ji, whose singing conveyed a range of emotions and whose Ghazals spoke directly to the soul. He was a beacon of Indian music, whose melodies transcended generations. I recall my various interactions with him over the years.”
